''we wear the mask" is a poem written by the poet paul laurence dunbar.
This poem talks about how the White Americans treated the African americans in a bad manner.
But the African Amricans hid thier true emotions and feelings with laughter, songs , and smiles to let the White americans acknowledge that there is no difference between black and white Americans.
