testing my posting skills with embedding a vedio from youtube.

''we wear the mask" is a poem written by the poet paul laurence dunbar.
This poem talks about how the White Americans treated the African americans in a bad manner.
But the African Amricans hid thier true emotions and feelings with laughter, songs , and smiles to let the White americans acknowledge that there is no difference between black and white Americans.

Wow... Where did you dig up this video? Very nice representation of the poem. I think we should display it in class. Nice work Maher and you are the first to know how to embed a video :) outstanding .. Great job.
Do you think that we can extend the poems (especially WE Wear The Mask to our lives or our culture? Let's take for example the Egyptians. These are people who are always smiling and telling jokes and love life. Do think they do this (especially those who reside in Egypt) to hide their misery or that they feel oppressed due to the current rule? Can you think of other minorities that do this , hide their true feelings?

Again, a very good post

thank you mr.ammar :)
Conserning of extending the poem, I think that poor egyptians living in egypt do hide thier feelings and emotions by showing us that they are gregarious and amiable people who really do love and appreciate life. They wear the mask to show that the current rule has no effect on them, but they are affected.
Aother example are the Arab emigrants or Muslim emigrants in USA.
